Hello my dear friends!

First of all, let me excuse myself for pulling an MIA (missing in action that is) on you guys, but the truth is I was under house arrest working on my midterm projects. Oh my God people, you have no idea how much work I put on those projects. I literally stayed home for 5 days working non stop from morning till like 2am-4am in the morning. I'm not even kidding one bit. Really exhausting but totally worth it. My visual merchandising II teacher congratulated me on my project and that made me a very happy woman. You know, when I started school last quarter I worked hard and studied hard because I wanted to give my very best. Another reason is because I need to find a job when I graduate so I don't get sent back to my hood (Guatemala). Having straight A's might be a little helpful. However, this quarter when I found out I was on the Dean's Honor List now I kind of feel that I need to keep my status lol! Now I feel pressured! This is actually really stupid because I'm the only single person who actually gives a (biiiiiiiiiiiiiiip) about it. But anyways....

Enough about me and my school life. I have some good news for the ladies. This morning while I was reading the July 29 Women's Wear Daily issue, I found out about Byrdie. Byrdie is the new Clique Media online creation dedicated to beauty and celebrities (more about Rihanna's infamous shaved-side hairstyle). It is a beautifully layered Web site, that is easy and fun to read, with eye catching images, clean typography, and up to date news about all things beauty and celebrities. For those of you who don't know, Clique Media is the mastermind behind WhoWhatWear and Domaine, which combined share a 23 million page views per month. Pretty amazing numbers right? Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power co-founders and chief executive officers of Clique said that there was a need for an online beauty venue that wasn't a traditional magazine's Web site, blog or a video tutorial. This is what the ladies have to say about Byrdie: 

"We didn't see anything that came from a strong editorial point of view that really reported out, but still encompassed the fun trends that aren't as editorially driven, like street style. There are not a lot of great sites that cover celebrity beauty out there, and not a lot that cover celebrity beauty, which is our secret sauce, that seems like a big open space."

So, if you are a beauty freak like most of us women are, you're gonna love Byrdie. You'll even find a video tutorial showing you how to get a Brigitte Bardot mane.

HAIR ODYSSEY

Oh my goodness people you have no idea the hair odyssey I just went thru!!! I am officially a crazy lunatic person. Yesterday I decided to go to my hair salon (Estilos) with my fabulous colorist Mauro to get my hair color done. For some bizarre reason I decided that I wanted to darken my hair and become a brunette. Mauro being the great hairstylist he is did quite a wonderful job, the problem was that when I saw myself I almost had a panic attack!!! Hahahaha I looked like Malinka the Russian prostitute!!! People told me it looked good but I didn't feel like myself at all!!! Worst part is that I had to go to the network to shoot 4 episodes of one of the TV shows I'm in, and so I gathered courage and went. When I left the network I picked up my friend Deby and asked her to please come with me to the Estilos because I had to change my color ASAP back to red!!! Of course being the sweetheart she is she grabbed her stuff in a heart beat and came with me. When I got to Estilos there he was Mauro waiting for me patiently. To make long story short I went back to being a vibrant redhead again. Although I have to admit that when I saw my red hair I kinda had a panic attack again hahahaha it's just pretty shocking to go from really dark to really bright red in one day, for a second there I thought I looked like Bozo the clown's wife. However this morning I came to my senses and realized it wasn't that bad at all, I actually like it a lot. I know it's reeeeaaaally red and really bright but I DON'T CARE!!! I like being a shocking redhead!!! It feels more like my personality, and anyways I can always tone it down a little bit but at least I'm happy to feel like myself again.

Why is it that us human beings end up doing the things that we don't want to do? Are we trying to please other people other than ourselves? I guess we have to go thru this kind of things to understand what are the things that we really want and send everyone else to hell. I know this hair story is pretty stupid but it's a good analogy, makes you wonder. From now on I'll do only the things I want to do, I'll color my hair however I want, I'll dress however I want and I'll do the jobs that I want, no more trying to please other people, right now the only person I really need to honor, respect, and make sacrifices for is my mother and the people that I really love and consider like family, the rest you know where you can go.

HAIR MADNESS

Do you remember how I've been so obsessed about cutting my hair but never actually have the nerve to do it. Well today while I was browsing Garance Dore's famous and acclaimed blog http://www.garancedore.fr/ I found this picture of a girl that seems to be her friend because it's not the first time she photographs her. You see how much fun she looks like she's having!!! I bet if I cut my hair I would have as much fun as her. Do you think women with short hair have more fun than women with regular hairstyles? Or maybe it's because they're so confident about it. You can't cut your hair and go all about feeling awkward. Well, this is exactly the kind of haircut I would get, If I'm gonna cut it, I'm gonna do it all the way hahahaha But maybe I'm still gonna wait a couple of more months hahaha (I'm such a coward).

TO CUT OR NOT TO CUT

Hello everyone, I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend.

I've been having quiet a dilemma for a while now. I've been seriously considering cutting my hair but haven't made up my mind yet. It seems that the more I think about things the less I do them, it's just like the nose ring I've always fantasized about but never really gather the nerve to actually get it. I once went on a trip to Spain and noticed that half the young population there had a nose ring, so I kept on asking everyone if it hurt, some say yes, some lie and say no, 5 years have passed by since that trip and I still don't have one. 

Anyhow!!! I've had short hair in the past (like, seriously spiky short hair) and I loved it, it was super fun until I noticed a lot of people thought I was a lesbian, not that I have anything against them but I'm not a lesbian, I ended up being hit on my girls every time I went out, so I let it grow. I think both short and long hair are sexy, however not many people can wear short hair, I should take advantage of the fact that I actually look good with it. 

Most men will advice you NOT to cut it because they like it long, they consider it more sexy or womanly, I don't know, whatever, but is it really a reason not to cut it, just because men like it long? I just think it's such a stupid reason, I should keep it long because I LIKE IT LONG!!!

Reasons why I want to cut it: 

1. I love change.

2. I'm starting to grow tired of long hair, all that blowdrying your hair and conditioning and taking care of it, it's difficult. 

3. I'm starting to loose a lot of hair.

4. I'd like to think I'm a girl that fears nothing.

So what do you think? Do you have any great short hair ideas for me? Today I found this picture of that girl from the series Beverly Hills 90210, I'm sorry I don't remember he name (SO, WHAT IF I DONT' REMEMBER HER!!!), I really like her short hair, do you like it? I still have to let my bangs grow a little bit more to actually get this hairdo, so I guess I still have some time to think about it.
