In case you're a man and you're wondering how to incorporate bright colors to your wardrobe, here's an idea (if you dare). I found these images on Pinterest and fell in love with them. I think the styling and photography are magnificent. Nothing yells out summer more than bright colors and tropical birds.

IT'S A MAN'S WORLD: 5 WAYS TO WEAR KNITS

Men like women have different style personalities. Some are dramatic, some are more romantic (yes, it also applies for men) and some are a bit more relaxed and natural. There's no right or wrong way to do it, it all depends on your own personal preferences and lifestyle. There are however certain guidelines  you can follow to help you look your best no matter your personal style. But this post is not about rules and guidelines is about inspiration and creative ideas. I created 5 outfits, 5 different ways to wear your knits depending on 5 different style personalities. A WHITE CASE

I don't know if it's purely coincidental or if it's perhaps a global fashion marketing strategy but it seems that white is THE thing right now for menswear. How do I know this? Am I just making this up? Sometimes I do make things up but this time I have evidence to back me up. 

Yesterday I went to the pharmacy and decided to buy Esquire magazine THE BIG BLACK BOOK EDITION which I love because it's filled with images of extremely handsome men. Their first article is dedicated all to how to wear white this summer SEVEN WAYS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOUR WHITES. Also this morning while I was visiting my favorite luxury online men's boutique MR PORTER, I found on this month's journal an article that was called ALL WHITE? I loved how they added a little humor to the article, following the title it says GETTING WHITE DONE ISN'T THAT SIMPLE (AS SOME GUESTS PROVED AT THE MONACO ROYAL WEDDING) hahaha and it's surrounded by images of some of the male guests wearing hideous white military uniforms. The world can sometimes be a bit ridiculous. 

My point is that white is in gentlemen. You don't have to wear white from head to toe, if you haven't done it before you might end up looking like a dentist, but you could start adding some touches of white to your summer wardrobe, specially if you live or are traveling to a tropical place (bastards).

Ok, I have to admit that some of this outfits are not really that summery but I couldn't help myself and got a little bit carried away. Anyhow, the guidelines are the same ones.

10 THINGS EVERY FUNKY GUY NEEDS

Ok everyone, I finally came up with my list of 10 things every funky guy should own. I admit this list is not for everyone and most likely a lot of you are not going to agree with me but that's ok, you can come up with your own list. One thing is for sure, this one is a lot of fun and to prove my point I even created an outfit using all 10 pieces. Perhaps in the future I'll come up with a different list for a different type of guy and so on, not everyone was born funky.

MANLY CLASSICS: BORING OR NOT?

Today I was helping a friend of mine who needed to know which are the 10 essential classic pieces every man should own. I strongly believe that it's absolutely ridiculous to say that the only thing a man or a woman needs to have in their closet are 10 classic pieces. Sorry Tim Gunn but that's not true, I've decided there's like at least 20 pieces (however I'm not gonna talk about this right now, but soon I will). 

Since I was helping her search for some images I decided why not take advantage of it and share them with you as well. I love how "Fashion Experts" are so specific about certain things, like for example: you're not supposed to own just any overcoat, it has to be a trenchcoat, preferably Burberry. It also can't be a nice pair of sunglasses that go according to your facial features, noooooo, it has to be Ray Ban Aviator sunglasses. The power of marketing!!! However after reading such a ridiculous list (ok, maybe we all love a trenchcoat) I decided I'm gonna come up with my own list of essential pieces every funky guy should own. So stay tuned because after this boring list, I'm coming up with my own rules and I'm sharing them with you. 

Ok, Maybe I shouldn't be saying all this things....Oh who cares, I have to be honest, I'm a Sagittarius being straightforward is one of my traits. I guess maybe every man should own at least this 10 pieces.

MANLY CARDIGANS

This morning when I woke up first thing I did was make myself a cup of coffee and then sit down in front of my computer to check my e-mails and work on Style by Red. I noticed that ever since I started this blog I've seldom ever given guys any style or fashion advice, so today while I was browsing thru my faaaavorite menswear online website Mr Porter I was inspired by their new FIVE WAYS TO WEAR topic. Today it was all about cardigans which I was delighted to read because I love a man who knows how to wear a cardigan without looking like he's going golfing. So needless to say I was inspired to venture myself into manly outfit creating. 

Here are my own 5 ways to wear a cardigan. Hope you like them and let me know if you have any favorites.

JACOBO + LEONEL

Today was a very interesting day and quite different from any other regular day of mine. I was invited to join the judge panel of a singing contest organized by McDonald's called "Voice of McDonald's". I was a little bit nervous because I know very little about music and I didn't want to make a fool of myself but then again I was invited to give my professional opinion on image and stage performance and so decided to leave fear at the door. 

When I got there I was delighted to find out that a couple of friends of mine Jacobo and Leonel, who are members of a very famous Guatemalan band called Malacates, where also judges. Jacobo plays the trumpet (he's also a composer, teaches music, plays the piano, the guitar, he sings... he does everything) and Leonel plays the drums (I think he also plays the piano too because today he was telling me a story of how he's mother made him learn how to play the piano before he learned the drums). So needless to say I was in good company and obviously had fun. 

During the day there where moments where we had to wait for other contestants to arrive, so while we had some free time I thought it would be a good idea to play a little game called CREATING OUTFITS (of course!!! what else, my favorite thing, specially men's outfits). This time I decided to give Jacobo and Leonel a virtual makeover!!! For that I visited my favorite online boutique for men Mr Porter http://www.mrporter.com/ and came up with an outfit for each one of them, always taking under consideration their own unique personality and fashion style. They're both really cool creative dudes so it was an easy and fun job to do. This is what we came up with during recess time. Hope you like it.
