IVY LOOK OF THE WEEK: SUMMER TOPS

(English)

It's official, summer time is here. Today for example feels hot, hot, hot!!! The worst part is that I have to go renew my drivers license, which by the way I just recently noticed that it had expired in December (oops). It's this time of year that makes you feel like going nude outside is your best option. However no need for such drastic measures. Las week I paid Ivy boutique a visit and noticed their newly arrived collection of fresh summer tops. Here are three very fresh, comfortable, and chic options.

Sometimes it can get a little chillier at night. A boho chic scarf wouldn't be such a bad idea
Algunas veces se pone un poco frío por la noche. Una chalina al estilo boho chic no sería mala idea

COSMICA BY STUDIO MAS

Yesterday my friend Renee and I attended the launch of COSMICA at Morena. COSMICA is the new accessories collection from the girls of Studio MAS inspired by the cosmos.

MAS is formed by a group of women designers who are passionate about creating design and fashion. Every collection is characterized by being theme inspired. Their past collections include Alicia, and Bunny Necks both very romantic and feminine.

Every single piece they ever make is handmade and one of a kind.  I'd heard of MAS before but I had never seen their collections in person. I have to admit I was so impressed by the work done by the girls that of course I had to buy myself a piece. Let me say it was no easy task choosing amongst a variety of really amazing necklaces, earrings, rings and bracelets but in the end I decided to get this wonderful neon necklace. Tomorrow I'm definitely wearing it for Style Sessions.

To learn more about MAS and where to purchase their one of a kind pieces you may visit their Website. Also follow them on Facebook and stay updated on their latest news.

I HEART WANDERLUST

Yesterday I received the most amazing gift from my friend and shoe designer Renate Krings. Renate is the founder and creator of Wanderlust footwear, the hippest shoe line in Guatemala right now. When I met Renate I was surprised to see how young she was, she's still a design student at Universidad Rafael Landivar, but she sure has a young entrepreneur heart something I highly admire in her.

Renate's success story is very inspiring for young women out there who have a big dream. Renate founded Wanderlust July last year when she was merely 21 years old. She was on vacation from school and decided to take advantage of all that free time to make her own dream come true. She began searching for everything on her own, manufacturing, materials, and of course human support.

Renate had a very clear concept of what she wanted. Life is a journey, Wanderlust footwear would become the soul of our most faithful traveling companions...our shoes. Custom made to fit each persons taste and personality everyone would have a shoe of their own, a one of a kind piece.

Renate began her own journey that led her to what Wanderlust is today. Wanderlust's Facebook fan page began with only 2 likes, today they have 6,624 likes. When you have the perfect mix of talent, passion and faith, success inevitably follows.

Never give up, keep believing, trust the one that put those dreams in your heart in the first place and work hard to achieve them

Thank you so much Wanderlust for this amazing gift 100% Guatemalan, from the creators, designers and manufacturers to the colorful and beautiful materials. Now of course I want more lol!

If you like what you see then you have to visit Wanderlust on Facebook and become a fan. If you live in Guatemala City you can also purchase Wanderlust footwear at Morena.

Expect to see more of my new Wanderlust shoes here on Style by Red.

MON PARFUM: BOND NO.9 NUIT DE NOHO

I'm frequently asked what perfume I wear. Reason why everybody asks me is because it smells heavenly (and don't even get me stated with the body lotion and candles). You have to know something about me: I HATE PERFUMES!!! The worst gift in the world you can give me is a perfume unless it's Bond No. 9 Nuits de Noho. I'v been using Bond No.9 for 7 years now and I will keep on using it for a very long time.  I've decided to make it my signature perfume.

I was first introduced to their captivating scents back in 2004 while on a trip to Miami with my best friend Kika. We where wondering around Saks Fifth Avenue with no intention of buying anything whatsoever when all of a sudden this very persistent sales person at the fragrance department insisted that we try the new Bond No. 9 fragrances. I will never forget this man, he used the most elevated and delicious words to sell perfume. I have to admit that at first I felt it was a bit strong probably because I have a very sensitive sense of smell. He spritzed a bit of perfume on a paper card that I put inside my agenda. After that I forgot about the perfume and went back to Guatemala. About 4 months after that I opened my agenda where I found the perfumed paper and guess what? it still smelled!!! Amazing!!! That's when I decided I would only use Bond No. 9 Nuit de Noho from then on.

Back in Guatemala I had to be patient and waited another couple of months (maybe more) until I went on a trip to Boston to finally be able to get myself a Bond No.9 perfume. I remember me and my friends went to Louis Boston, one of the most beautiful multi brand stores I've ever been to, where I was surprised to find Bond No.9 From that day on I'm faithful to Nuit de Noho.
