SPRING 2012 FASHION ADVERTISING

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!! I'm a little bit nervous about this new upcoming year and at the same time very excited. I already made some tough choices in December but there are still some left to be made, so hopefully God will give me good wisdom to make them. One thing is for sure I plan to stay in touch with you guys on a daily basis. I know last year I was a bit absent, specially the last months of the year but I made it a new year's resolution to share more thoughts with you.

Yesterday I was browsing nymag.com which I loooove (I used to be subscribed to their magazine) and I came upon an article about the new SPRING 2012 FASHION ADVERTISING. I went through 64 images and picked my top 10 favorite ones. Here they are... notice there's a lot of retro influence in this seasons collections.

Balenciaga never stops to surprise us!!! I love their contemporary way of portraying high fashion. Two thumbs up for this advertising!!!

I personally believe this image embodies the whole spirit of Mademoiselle Coco Chanel. Let's remember that Coco gave women what they needed most at that time, freedom and comfort without sacrificing great style.

To me this Ermanno Scervino image is absolutely captivating. She looks like a mermaid at the bottom of the ocean, which might've been exactly what they where looking for to achieve thru it. It inevitably transports you to summer places to travel. It makes me think of Brazil, Miami, Sardinia, La Cote de Azur... If you think about going to those places, you definitely want to look your best.

Giuseppe Zanotti is the master of calzature, no questions asked, at least that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Quite frankly you don't need any other adornments when wearing Giuseppe Zanotti heels, something that's clearly portrayed in this advertising.  Plus those long legs and ocean in the back are hypnotizing.

This Givenchy add is by far the sexiest one out there. I love the irony of it. Usually we relate summer with bright colors, the ocean, happy people and perhaps California surfer dudes. This is the darkest idea of summer out there.

Why I chose this Jill Stuart add? Something about the simplicity of it that caught my attention. If you think about it, it is kind of sexy. It makes me think of a nice girl urging to go bad.

Stepford Wives anyone?

Brazil, Brazil, Brazil!!! I'm obsessed with it!!! Plus I looove the coloring of this picture, it takes me back to a late 60's Copacabana film. All I hear in the back is Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66 "Mais que Nada."

Sexy and fabulous!!! Again, very retro.

And the winner is PRADA!!! Always, always, always!!! And those who do not agree can go to h.... Miuccia Prada is the genius of all. There's not one single advertising campaign of her's that I don't fall in love with. She's pure perfection.

There!!! which one is your favorite one?
