THE FABULOUS PEOPLE: INTERVIEW WITH DEBORA FADUL

For those of you who did not read my last post Debora Fadul is a dear friend of mine and simply put Guatemala's most talented and creative young chef. She's also the star of "Cosina Kreativa" a series of TV capsules by Canal Antigua dedicated to show people how to approach the art of cooking in a more creative manner.

If you wish to learn about Debora's work and methodology, you can visit her blog www.chefdemoncoeur.blogspot.com where she shares on a daily basis some of her most memorable cooking experiences. Who knows maybe she'll even share a cooking secret or two.

Meanwhile enjoy my interview with Deby. At the end of our interview I asked Deby to pose for the camera wearing my collection of funky eyewear. Let us know which one is your favorite pic.

1. Favorite ingredients to cook with
  • Sun dried tomatoes
  • Basil
  • Portobello mushrooms
  • Risotto
  • Parmigiano
2. What would you make with those ingredients?
  • Arancinis (risotto balls)
3. Who do you dream cooking for?
  • My father in law. He's got the most educated and well trained palate. It's simply a joy to cook for him.
4. What would you cook for him?
  • Anything with cheese, he loves cheese
5. Which restaurant do you dream of dining at?
  • At a restaurant called La Tagliata in Positano Italy
6. If I told you right now that you have to leave the country because someone is asking for your head, where in the world would you move to?
  • New Zealand for it's nature, culture and people
7. Three things you can't live without
  • I'm not attached to things but I could never live without love, cooking and friendships
8. If I told right now that you have to throw away everything inside your closet and that you are allowed to keep only 5 things, what would they be?
  • My converse shoes my boyfriend designed for me
  • Denim overalls
  • Chef uniform
  • White blouse from Urban Outfitters
  • North Face all terrain jacket
9. Favorite junk food
  • Wendy's baked potato with bacon and cheese
10. What's your style advice for women all over?
  • Dress your body type
  • Wear what makes you feel comfortable
  • Stay true to your own persona style, never imitate
  • Not all colors are meant to be worn by everyone

Being the stylish girl that she is, Deby has her closet filled with some of this season's hottest colors, brights and pastels

Deby's favorite overalls

Deby's boyfriend actually designed this converses' for her, pretty amazing!!!

You can tell Deby leans for tribal inspired accessories

A very special piece for Deby, made by her boyfriend. Just so you know he's quite the creative guy. Deby also has the coolest clutch bag made of a Fedex envelope also made by Gio.
