TEACHING OUTFIT DAY #1

My former teacher Michelle Sterling founder of the Sterling Style Academy approached me last year to talk about the possibility of me teaching the 3 day intensive course on fashion styling and personal shopping in Spanish here in Miami (also going to teach in Mexico). Since I always like a new challenge of course I said yes. Today was my first day teaching and I obviously I wanted to look great. Here's what I wore.

BOMBORA LOOK OF THE WEEK: ETHNIC CHIC

(English)

For a while now ethnic fabrics have been quite the trend, specially the one's from our native Guatemala.  Last year they made their presence strong in accessories, handbags, shoes, bracelets...Although it looks like it don't think this dress was found at one of our picturesque local markets here in Guatemala, it's actually Billabong. Yes! From the land down under. The Australian brand that once upon a time designed attire mostly for surfers now is making beautiful day dresses you can wear over the weekend (or during the week if you're not forced to follow a strict work dress code). It seems they have taken interest in our one of a kind colorful textiles. As Guatemalans this makes us incredibly proud of our roots. I don't think this fabric was made in Guatemala but it sure is inspired by it.

Once again here's our beautiful Ashley modeling for us. Another way to wear this dress if the temperature drops down a couple of degrees is to put on a pair of tight and boots or booties and voilá! Or if you're not the high heels during the day kind of girl like me you can wear it with flat sandals. There's always a solution for everyone.

STYLING FOR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

I've always been of the opinion that everyone should have their picture taken with a professional photographer at least once a year (in my case it would be several times a year lol!). A photograph is a beautiful memory to keep that speaks vividly of a certain and very specific time of your life. I lost my father two and a half years ago and one the things that I enjoy doing the most is looking at photographs of him and my grandparents. Thru them I'm able to imagine the story of their lives. Imagine if I didn't have those pictures?

I want to introduce to you my new styling for portrait photography services. You already decided to invest in a good photographer, why not invest in someone that will help you come up with a creative concept and at the same time help you look amazing in your photographs? My team and I can help you with everything, finding a concept, wardrobe styling, hair and makeup, props and of course photography. You already have a photographer of your choice? I can still help you, although I have to say my team is the best lol!

Imagina si no tuviera esas fotografías?

STYLING FOR LOOK MAGAZINE

Yesterday I did the styling for the July issue of LOOK MAGAZINE. This was our second photo shoot, our first one was two weeks ago with Guatemalan photographer and co-founder of LA FOTOTECA Clara de Tezanos as model, a very different kind of photo shoot. Right now I can't really show you anything until the magazine comes out in July but I will show you a couple of backstage shoots to keep you interested. I think the end result is going to be amazing. For both photo shoots we used clothes by ADOLFO DOMINGUEZ and jewelry by ALESSA DESIGNS
