MADEMOISELLE RED GOES TO FILM SCHOOL

No, not really, I wish. I also wish I could go to photography school, graphic design school, web programming school, and language school (French, Portuguese, Hebrew, Swedish...) lol! What can I say, I'm the kind of person who likes to learn things. Unfortunately I don't think I have the time or money to learn everything, one's got to work right? Anyways... I'd be pretty cool to be a film maker.

MADEMOISELLE RED HAS AN ADDICTION (OR TWO)

Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a wonderful week. Hasn't it ever happened to you that you wake up and even though you're already fully awaken it takes you about three minutes to actually realize that it's really not Saturday but Tuesday? It happened to me today lol! The disappointment!

Anyhow... Today I want to talk to you about my two latest addictions. Actually one is more of a habit that I've acquired recently, the other is totally and addiction (as if I needed another one). Let's start with my new uniform. I've always liked the idea of a uniform. I don't know if you guys remember the time that I attempted a LBD uniform when I was a producer for Matutino Express. Black skinny jeans, white button down or denim button down (men's shirts are my fave), biker boots, three watches, have become my latest uniform. I just feel it's comfortable, classic, and I look good like that. I don't have to think about it too much, and I don't have to worry about shopping too much either. Now I just enjoy dressing up for special occasions (TV, blog photo shoots...) or when I'm going out. My second addiction is WOCKO! OMG! Why did they have to open in the city? Now I feel like I have to have it every day! I try to make mine as healthy as I possibly can with whole wheat noodles, tofu, green vegetables and curry sauce. I'm gonna have to draw a line and limit myself to once a week Wocko (maybe two). Wish me luck!

Deseenme suerte!

MADEMOISELLE GUATEMALA

One of the most beautiful things we have in Guatemala (aside from our wonderful weather, amazing landscapes, friendly people...) are our one of a kind textiles, each one more beautiful than the other one, and each one with it's own powerful meaning. There's years and years of history behind them. Even though lately they have become the stylish thing to wear (clothes, shoes, handbags, accessories...) I've always loved them. I like to mix traditional pieces with other contemporary ones. Here's a dress I bought a couple of years ago at Museo Ixchel, I mixed it up with my Kenzo belt and a yellow scarf as turban (I love wearing things on my head). I hope you feel inspired to do a mixing of your own.

STYLING FOR PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY

I've always been of the opinion that everyone should have their picture taken with a professional photographer at least once a year (in my case it would be several times a year lol!). A photograph is a beautiful memory to keep that speaks vividly of a certain and very specific time of your life. I lost my father two and a half years ago and one the things that I enjoy doing the most is looking at photographs of him and my grandparents. Thru them I'm able to imagine the story of their lives. Imagine if I didn't have those pictures?

I want to introduce to you my new styling for portrait photography services. You already decided to invest in a good photographer, why not invest in someone that will help you come up with a creative concept and at the same time help you look amazing in your photographs? My team and I can help you with everything, finding a concept, wardrobe styling, hair and makeup, props and of course photography. You already have a photographer of your choice? I can still help you, although I have to say my team is the best lol!

Imagina si no tuviera esas fotografías?

LITTLE MISS RED ROCKSTAR PUNK

Ok, so I've always wanted to have a sort of bad ass rockstar look but somehow I always end up looking   romantic and vintage. Maybe it's because everything in mi closet is either romantic, vintage or bohemian. If I wanted to change my look to bad ass rock I would have to give away 90% of the things I own, which is not happening anytime soon because I don't have a hefty shopping budget lol! I guess I could start with baby steps, incorporating some rock star items to my wardrobe. My wish list include: a biker leather jacket, a biker leather vest, biker leather boots, studded sneakers, studded accessories (in fact anything studded), and perhaps a motorcycle, a pierced nose and a tatoo (ok maybe not). With those things and the ones I already have I could come up with a pretty cool vintage-romantic-rockstar look. Wadda ya think? Meanwhile back at the ranch, this is as rockstar punk as I get lol! I like it! Specially my frizzy 80's hair brought to you by my wonderful hair stylist Fernanda.

Me gusta!

LITTLE MISS RED AND THE LEMON TREE

This Past Friday Shanila and I went to our friend Fernanda Gomar's house to have our Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures monthly photo shoot session. Due to our busy schedules we always try to take advantage of the whole afternoon to shoot enough material for an entire month, that is if the weather allows us. This past couple of months have been quite challenging because of the weather in Guatemala. Most of the time it rains and so we find ourselves forced to either cancel the shoot earlier than planned or change locations. No matter what we always try to be as creative as we can possibly be considering the circumstances. However I don't know why every time we go to Fernanda's house we always get the best weather. The first time shooting there we came up with Little Miss Vintage Traveler, Little Miss Red Pitaya and Little Mis red Tropicalisima, until now those have been my 3 favorite posts since we started, except for the very first one Mademoiselle Red which is my all time favorite one.  This time I think we came up with some pretty cool material as well. Today I give you LITTLE MISS RED AND THE LEMON TREE. How gorgeous are those lemons in the pictures!!! And how gorgeous is my fro too of course lol!!! Expect more 80's inspired frizzy hair in future LMR posts.

LITTLE MISS FINISHING SCHOOL

Good morning everyone! It's Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures Tuesday.  Like I told you yesterday, on this occasion Little Miss Red is sent to finishing school to learn how to be a stylish and educated lady (although she already was). From walking up straight to how to become a charming hostess she learned it all. I guess a little finishing school doesn't hurt anyone, not even free spirited Little Miss Red.

LITTLE MISS RED IN THE WOODS

Welcome to "Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures" Tuesday. First it was Mademoiselle Red, then it was Little Miss Bohemian Red, today it's Little Miss Red in the Woods a more glamorous alternative to the regular little miss red riding hood only this time there is no wolf or a sick grandmother just a lady in red, after all looking good has never been considered inappropriate, and since Little Miss Red is a woman of her own she's not afraid to be whomever she decides to be at all times, even in the woods.
