HOW TO WEAR POLKA DOTS

Finally after like a month of absence I'm back to Style Sessions. Feels good to be back home with my peeps. Our topic of the day was spring 2013 trend forecast. It's already time to start planning looks for this spring, although in Guatemala is spring all year round (Yeah! we're that lucky).

Today I decided to wear my white button down shirt from J.Crew (lately I've developed an obsession with white button down shirts), polka dot-cropped-cigarette leg-J.Crew pants, and spiked-yellow Schutz heels. I'm not a very big fan of polka dots. Let me rephrase that: I don't like polka dots, but for some reason I thought this pants where kind of cool. With my yellow shoes I think they look pretty bad ass. They do make me look like 10 pounds heavier from my bottom half but who cares! I know what you're all thinking: Majo and Cathy do have killer legs! 

Finalmente después de como un mes de ausencia estoy de vuelta a Sesiones de Estilo. Se siente muy bien estar de vuelta a casa con mis colegas. Nuestro tema del día fue predicción de tendencias primavera 2013. Es momento ya de empezar a planear atuendos para la primavera, aunque en Guatemala es primavera todo el año (Sí! así somos de privilegiados). 

Hoy decidí ponerme mi camisa de botones blanca de J.Crew (recientemente he desarrollado una obsesión por camisas blancas de botones), pantalones de lunares-de pierna recta-al tobillo-de J.Crew, y mis tacones amarillos con púas de Schutz. No soy muy amante de los lunares. Déjenme re-parrafrasear eso: No me gustan los lunares, pero por alguna razón pensé que estos pantalones estaban algo cool. Con mis tacones amarillos creo que se ven increíbles (no sé como traducir bad ass al español jaja). Si me hacen ver como 10 libras más pesada en mi parte de abajo pero a quien le importa! Sé lo que todos están pensando: Majo y Cathy tienen unas piernasas!

LITTLE MISS RED ROCKSTAR PUNK

Ok, so I've always wanted to have a sort of bad ass rockstar look but somehow I always end up looking   romantic and vintage. Maybe it's because everything in mi closet is either romantic, vintage or bohemian. If I wanted to change my look to bad ass rock I would have to give away 90% of the things I own, which is not happening anytime soon because I don't have a hefty shopping budget lol! I guess I could start with baby steps, incorporating some rock star items to my wardrobe. My wish list include: a biker leather jacket, a biker leather vest, biker leather boots, studded sneakers, studded accessories (in fact anything studded), and perhaps a motorcycle, a pierced nose and a tatoo (ok maybe not). With those things and the ones I already have I could come up with a pretty cool vintage-romantic-rockstar look. Wadda ya think? Meanwhile back at the ranch, this is as rockstar punk as I get lol! I like it! Specially my frizzy 80's hair brought to you by my wonderful hair stylist Fernanda. 

Ok, debo admitir que siempre he querido tener un look a lo estrella de rock pero por alguna razón siempre termino con un look romántico y vintage. Quizás sea porque todo lo que tengo en mi closet es romántico, vintage o bohemio. Si quisiera cambiar mi look a estrella de rock tendría que regalar el 90% de lo que tengo, lo cual no va a suceder en un futuro cercano porque no tengo un presupuesto de compras robusto jaja! Creo que podría empezar dando pasos pequeñitos, incorporando algunos artículos rock a mi actual guardarropa. My lista de compras que quisiera hacer incluye: una chaqueta de cuero al estilo biker, un chaleco de cuero al estilo biker, unas botas de cuero al estilo biker, unos zapatos tenis con tachuelas, uno que otro accesorio con tachuelas (de hecho cualquier cosa con tachuelas) y quizás una moto, un arete en la nariz y un tatuaje (ok quizás no). Si mezclo estas cosas con las que tengo actualmente en mi guardarropa podría crear un look vintage-romántico-rock muy interesante. Que piensan? Mientras tanto esto es lo más estrella de rock punk que logro ser haha! Me gusta! Especialmente mi cabello frizz estilo 80's cortesía de mi fabulosa estilista Fernanda.

MONDAY LOOK: MODERN PEASENT

No! I'm not pregnant and I'm not going to the farm lol! Damn! I just thought since today is warm and sunny it would be a good idea to wear something fresh and colorful and fun. Initially I considered wearing my Converse sneakers but then I thought that would've been too weird, oh hell! I'll do it next time, worst case scenario I'll look completely ridiculous.

IT'S TOO HOT OUTSIDE AND THEN IT'S NOT

It's official! The weather is nuts here in Guatemala. One moment it's hot, so hot I can't stand wearing almost anything, the next it's a little bit chilly and then it rains. I seriously can't stand wearing jeans anymore so today I decided to wear my MNG skirt I bought a long time ago, Massimo Dutti top, Massimo Dutti wedges and MNG necklace, now I feel fresh, I might feel a little bit cold later though.

SEASON II EPISODE I OUTFIT

Today we started filming season 2 of my TV show AMO MI ESTILO. For those of you who don't know AMO MI ESTILO is the first makeover show in Guatemala. Right this moment we're at the beauty salon waiting for Leslie's final transformation. First we went to MANGO to find an outfit for here and now our star stylist Mauro from Salon Estilos is working on her haircut and haircolor. I decided to take advantage of my  brief break to create this post and share my outfit with you.

CHAMBRAY SHIRT AND WHITE JEANS

I bought this white jeans at Intermix a year and a half a go and worn it once. I love them specially because they're Rag & Bone (my favorites) but I'm always afraid that I'll end up looking like a German sausage (one of those really long white ones) lol!!! Anyhow, today I decided to give a damn about it and wear them, turns out I don't look like a German sausage after all.
