IT'S A CAPE HEAVEN!!!

You remember my Little Miss Red Looks Fall Chic post from Tuesday? Well... Today I almost died and went to cape heaven when I read about Leslie Tessler on Daily Candy. She's literally the queen of capes. Her philosophy is as follows:

"Having elected to abandon the traditional seasonal model, our mission is to create classic expertly tailored pieces that never go out of style; opting always for timeless over trendy."

The label was founded by Leslie Tessler herself in 2011. Leslie is based between New York City and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Take a look at some of her wonderful designs... Did you die and go directly to cape heaven too? Go visit her website, you'll die all over again when you see the cute buttons you can choose from for your customized cape!

LITTLE MISS FINISHING SCHOOL

Good morning everyone! It's Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures Tuesday.  Like I told you yesterday, on this occasion Little Miss Red is sent to finishing school to learn how to be a stylish and educated lady (although she already was). From walking up straight to how to become a charming hostess she learned it all. I guess a little finishing school doesn't hurt anyone, not even free spirited Little Miss Red.

DOLCE OUTFIT

Tonight I'm invited to attend the DOLCE party. DOLCE is a Guatemalan TV show showcasing local designers and artists. Today they are throwing a cocktail party to present the last episode of their first season. My friend Debora Fadul of Chef de Mon Coeur is doing the catering and of course I'm attending to support my fellow artist friends.

Here's what I'm planning on wearing tonight now that I'm in the neon tropical mood, despite the fact that today the weather is horrible. I know! I'm in perpetual denial of our weather but I don't give a......

GIOVANIA FOR ATELIER BOUTIQUE

Last week I posted a photograph I took of Giovania for Atelier Boutique, she looked so pretty that I had to share it with you. Today I'm posting the rest of Giovania's photographs wearing Alice Yim for Atelier Boutiqu. Two perfect outfits for a summer evening out, fun and chic. Two simple and stylish ways to wear shorts when the heat starts to rise.

CRAZY ABOUT PAN AM

I remember watching Pan Am's first episode the day it aired in the US on September 25 2011. Reason I remember it so clearly is because one of my friends was so excited about this new series that reminisced on the airline's golden era. To tell you the truth back in the days I was so busy with other things that I had no idea whatsoever about the show's premiere until that very day. After a few minutes inside the show's first episode I found myself extremely bored, I thought it was slow and just plain boring. Needless to say that was the ONLY Pan Am episode I watched. In fact it was reported that after their first episode viewership started to decline from 11.06 viewers to 3.74 on their 12th episode. Despite their viewership decline Sony Pictures Television decided to pick up the series for another second season due to it's international success. So it was until about a month ago that I started watching the show. Again I found it's first episode boring, it wasn't until it's third or fourth episode that I realized how hooked I was on the show. But why was this? The answer was very simple FASHION!!! I's not only the outfits, it's the hair, the makeup, the scenery, everything about it is beautiful and I love it. I started to fall in love with their costumes on that episode where they get to go to Thailand and then Colette's dress on the Montecarlo episode was simply divine. So I guess I'm just gonna have to enjoy it until it comes to an end again. Meanwhile let's enjoy it, If not for the show's drama for the love of fashion!

C'SANTOS PICK OF THE WEEK: TURKISH NECKLACES

I had already seen these beautiful Turkish necklaces at C'Santos a while ago but had never featured them on the blog. About three weeks ago I photographed our model Cristina wearing a gray one and she looked amazing. On Monday I went to C'Santos for my pick of the week and I saw them again, I thought: it's time to show them to my readers. At first sight you think they're really big, but once you put them on they look just perfect. I chose the aqua and pink one's but they also have them in a lovely shade of Ivory and of course the amazing gray. They are silk embroidered Turkish necklaces with agate stones, turquoises and pink quartz, stunning! I visualize myself wearing them with a maxi dress, a tunic, and sandals, perfect for summer.

Here I am! You see, they're just the perfect size. I chose aqua because it brings out the blue in my eyes but I think the pink one would look absolutely amazing on a blond girl.

GIOVANIA

Last week I photographed Giovania for Atelier Boutique. Giovania is just one of the most wonderful young girls in Guatemala, she's tall and gorgeous, she's intelligent, she rides horses (which I'm petrified of) and she's just the sweetest. I asked her if she could pose for us and she immediately agreed to do it without hesitating plus she's fantastic to work with because she never complains like the majority of models (there are some exceptions of course), maybe it's because she's not just a model this is something she does for shits and giggles.

Anywho, I wanted to share this picture with you because I think she looks stunning, pure natural beauty.

MADEMOISELLE RED

For our first session together Shanila and I decided we could have our photo shoot at her place, I'd never been to Shanila's house but I'd heard really good things about it, and plus I know she's a professional so I of course said yes, I always trust the people I work with, there's a reason I decided to work with them on the first place.

When I finally got there I see this beautiful white mediterranean inspired house with blue doors, I instantly fell in love with it.  Because of the whole style and idea of my outfit we decided to go upstairs and have our session on the terrace where there was a lot of light and texture on the walls and floor.

I wanted to portray a modern day mademoiselle who finds inspiration in moments of solitude and who at times needs to set herself apart from the world to find comfort and inner peace in the arms of tranquility.

HOW TO WEAR YOUR BATHING SUIT BEYOND THE POOL

I think last time I wore a one-piece swimsuit I was a teenager, ok maybe I'm lying, I was swimming in the public pool in Milan 10 years ago. Yes! back in the days when I studied fashion design in Milan I used to go swim at the public pool because I wanted to train for a triathlon. Those where my Xenadrine athletic years, I was insane!!! now I can't take 30min of workout before you have to call the ambulance lol!!!

Anyhow, back to swimsuits. For years and years I've only worn bikinis, perhaps because in your twenties one is always obsessed with suntans and the smaller the bikini the better, I still like them very small (bikinis I mean) but lately I've been seriously considering buying myself a one piece suit. You think it's because I'm scratching 35? Damn!!! lol!!! Who cares, one piece suits are very glamorous and the cool thing is that you can take them beyond the pool, bikinis too but not really everywhere and it's not classy showing up in a bikini to certain places after certain hours. I hadn't thought about it mainly because I don't own a one piece suit but yesterday I was reading InStyle magazine where I get a lot of inspiration from and there was an article on how to take your bathing suit beyond the pool. I thought...What a cool topic to share with my dear Style by Red readers and so I went and created this two looks, one is for a day at the local market and the other one is for dinner under the starry night at your favorite local restaurant.

I chose a beautiful design by Lisa Marie Fernandez. Famous fashion blogger Garance Doré featured it on her blog this week, she took a picture of Lisa Marie Fernandez herself wearing her own design at the Pellicano hotel in Tuscany, beautiful picture!!! Check out her post here.

Before I forget, the most important thing to remember is to choose a swimsuit with a clothing type neckline, some swimsuits are really only meant for the pool (like that high neck, really high leg, front zip, black and neon Body Glove swimsuit you've been saving from the 90's in hope that someday you'll fit in it again).

MEET THE NEW ATELIER BOUTIQUE!!!

Hello and good morning everyone!!! What better way to start the day than with some good and exciting news. This morning I want to introduce to you the new and improved ATELIER BOUTIQUE. I first introduced you to Atelier about three months ago and back then I already thought that it was the cutest little boutique in Guatemala with some of the most beautiful designers and labels, honestly speaking my favorite place. Just when you thought it couldn't get better it actually did!!! The girls from Atelier just recently relocated their boutique to a much bigger place right next to their former one and may I say it's absolutely gorgeous!!! Like I said, before it was a cute little boutique with great brands now it's an amazing boutique still with great brands. It actually looks like a boutique you could find in New York City's Soho, or Greenwich Village or Nolita, except bigger, we all know NYC boutiques can be quite small.

Anyhow, today I want to congratulate Carolina and Margarita, the two wonderful girls from Atelier for their great job and thank them for opening in Guatemala such a wonderful place for us women to shop and feel special.
