A SHOE DILEMMA!!! WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Today is the Saúl E. Méndez winter fashion show and of course I have a shoe dilemma. For those of you who don't know (why would you???) I have THE most delicate feet in the world. They are long (size 10), bony, and as flat as they come. Needless to say everything hurts. During my trip to Miami a couple of week ago I bought a pair of amazing neon orange pumps at J.Crew. They are the most amazing shoes, I feel like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz when I wear them. They felt pretty comfortable when I tried them on at the store, however this past few days they have proven me wrong. The question is... Should I bare the pain and discomfort in the name of fashion? or... Should I give three shits and wear my very comfortable very fun Wanderlust sneakers? Should I be the sexy 6 feet tall (or more) girl with the neon orange pumps and printed pants or should I be the happy girl (still sexy lol!) with a mojito in her hand who wont stop dancing with complete strangers? 

What should I do? 

Hoy es el desfile de invierno de Saúl E. Méndez y por supuesto tengo un dilema de zapatos. Para aquellos que no lo saben (por qué iban a saberlo???) tengo LOS pies más delicados del mundo. Son largos (talla 10), huesudos y planos como ningún otro. Está de más decir que todo lo que me pongo me lastima. Durante mi viaje a Miami hace dos semanas compre en J.Crew unos fantásticos tacones naranja neon. Son realmente los zapatos más fabulosos, me siento como Dorothy en El Mago de Oz cuando los uso. Se sentían cómodos cuando me los probé en la tienda, pero estos últimos dos días me han probado totalmente lo contrario. La pregunta es... ¿Debería de soportar el dolor y la incomodidad en nombre de la moda? o... ¿Debería de importarme un comino y ponerme mis muy cómodos y alegres tenis de Wanderlust? ¿Debería ser la sexy chica de 1.82 (o más) con zapatos naranja neon y pantalones estampados o debería ser la chica feliz (siempre sexy jaja) con un mojito en la mano que no para de bailar con completos extraños?

INSPIRATION OF THE DAY: SAILOR STRIPES AND NEONS

Doesn't this look beautiful together? I think it does. I have a peculiar obsession for the following: neons, sailor stripes, little black dresses, and button down denim shirts. Those are the things I just realized I kind of have a little collection of my own. Now maybe I'll even add to the list J.Crew cigarette leg printed pants. I've never in my life owned a pair of printed pants until now, and I'm loving it! I'm wearing the one's I bought (with my neon pumps and denim shirt of course) for tomorrow's Saúl E. Méndez fashion show. I'll show you pictures next week. 

Anyhow back to the image. What would you wear this with? I'm missing a bottom. 

Acaso no se ve hermoso esto? Yo pienso que si. Tengo una peculiar obsesión por lo siguiente: cualquier cosa en color neon, las rayas marineras, vestiditos negros y camisas de lona. Me acabo de dar cuenta que tengo una pequeña colección de esas cosas en mi closet. Quizás añada a la lista los pantalones estampados de pierna recta de J.Crew. Nunca en mi vida había comprado unos pantalones estampados sino hasta ahora y los amo! Me voy a poner los que compré (con mis tacones neon y camisa de lona por supuesto) este sábado para el show de Saúl E. Méndez. La próxima semana les muestro algunas fotografías. 

En fin, de regreso a la imagen. Con qué lo combinarían? Me hace falta la parte de abajo.

SAUL E. MÉNDEZ SS 2012 RUNWAY

Saúl E. Méndez's runway shows are always a delight to watch. They're filled with color, creativity, fun music (we even enjoyed a little bit of cumbia) and there's always some unexpected factor. This time it was models riding bicycles to Queen's "Bicycle" song. The runway show was mainly characterized by a lot of white and other neutrals like khaki and navy mixed with bright colors such as yellow, magenta and ocean green in light cotton fabrics. We also saw some prints (fruit inspired prints!!!) mixed with solids, bermudas with blazers, cropped pants, and everything from suits to more casual outfits worn with sandals. And by the looks of it, the adventurer and the Central American cowboy are in!!!

SAÚL E. MÉNDEZ SS 2012 El PULTÉ

This past Saturday took place the Saúl E. Méndez spring-summer 2012 runway show at El Pulté. El Pulté is the first exclusive equestrian club located in Guatemala City. It's international first class standards reflect the Saúl E. Méndez lifestyle. The pre-show was characterized by polo matches, Spanish horse exhibits, live music, tropical fruits and drinks, champagne, and of course the most selected group of guests. The event was inspired by the idea that we all share a dream of becoming a united Central American region. The runway was filled with models from Guatemala, Costa Rica, to New York. Needless to say, like all events organized by Saúl E. Méndez this one too lived up to everyone's standards.

UPCOMING FARMERS MARKET

It's official everyone!!! Next Sunday June 19 is the Saúl E. Méndez FARMERS MARKET. This time I decided to let you know a little bit in advance because last time a lot of people told me they didn't know anything about it and to let them now when it would take place again. Also I promise not to be so lazy like the last time and take more pictures of this wonderful colorful event.
