COLOR TREND: EMERALD GREEN (AHHH YES!)

The other day I saw on Pinterest a really cool picture of a girl wearing emerald green printed pants with a denim jacket. Mmm...give me a sec... I'm gonna go look for it. Ahhhh here it is! I'm sorry if I'm using someone else's picture, I wanted to give credit to the owner, I tried tracing it down but apparently the girl that uploaded it on Pinterest has a My Style album with like... seriously....1,000,000,000,000,000 images and quite frankly I have no time or patience. 

Anywho... I thought those green pants where out of this world. Today I was yet again visiting net-a-porter when all of a sudden...there it was...emerald green, the color of the season (and of course burgundy). So for today's post I decided to create an outfit using emerald green pants. Hope you like it! I WANT PANTS LIKE THOSE! 

El otro día vi en Pinterest una increíble fotografía de una chica vistiendo unos pantalones estampados color verde esmeralda con una chaqueta de lona. Mmm...denme un segundo...la voy a buscar. Ahhhh Aquí está! Siento mucho usar la fotografía de alguien más, quise darle créditos al dueño, traté de encontrar su origen pero la chica que subió la foto a Pinterest tiene un álbum titulado My Style con algo así como...en serio...1,000,000,000,000,000 imágenes y francamente no tengo ni tiempo ni paciencia. 

Bueno...pensé que esos pantalones eran la maravilla. Hoy estaba de nuevo visitando net-a-porter cuando derepente...allí estaba...verde esmeralda, el color de la temporada (claro corinto también). Entonces para el post de hoy decidí crear un atuendo usando pantalones estampados verde esmeralda. Espero les guste! QUIERO UNOS PANTALONES ASÍ!

And here is my outfit proposal...ok, for a moment there I started to worry that it would end up looking like a Christmas ornament but... who cares I would still wear it. 

Y aquí está mi propuesta de atuendo...ok, por un momento empecé a preocuparme que mi atuendo acabara pareciendo un arreglo de navidad pero...a quien le importa, aún me lo pondría. 

The most obvious way of wearing emerald green would be with black and white (or ivory), but...why not mix it up with another hot fall color BURGUNDY! 

La manera más obvia de usar verde esmeralda sería con negro o blanco (o crema), pero... por qué no mezclarlo con otro color de tendencia de esta temporada de otoño CORINTO!

HOW TO WEAR SHORTS WITH BOOTIES

Ahhh Monday! Isn't it fantastic! I love Monday's! Yes, I'm one of those weird ones specially if later on the day it turns into Brazilian Monday (cocktails included). I think it might just turn that way, although I promised myself today I was gonna start a detox diet because I have a fun trip coming soon and I want to look and feel fantastic. Ahhh who cares, we only live once, I'll have just one martini. 

Anyhow... I thought: What better way to start a Monday than with a "How to Wear" post. This morning I was visiting net-a-porter like I do almost every single morning, and I saw they had a tiny article about wearing coats as capes (quite the new trend right now). After a few seconds it hit me... all the outfits had two things in common 1. shorts and 2. booties. I thought: What a fantastic topic to share with my readers today. So here you have it "How to Wear Shorts With Booties."

Ahhhh Lunes! No es fantastico! Amo los lunes! Si, soy una de esas raras personas, especialmente si al final de la tarde se convierte en lunes brasileño (cocktails incluidos). Creo que existe la posibilidad de que se convierta en uno de esos lunes, aunque me prometí que hoy empezaría una dieta de desintoxicación porque tengo un viaje muy alegre pronto y quiero verme y sentirme fantástica. Ahhh que importa, solo se vive una vez, me tomaré solo un martini. 

En fin... pense: Que mejor forma de iniciar un lunes que con un "Cómo Vestir" post. Esta mañana visitaba net-a-porter como lo hago casi todas las mañanas cuando vi un pequeño artículo sobre como vestir chaquetas como capas (por cierto una tendencia muy vista en este momento). Después de un par de segundos me percaté que los atuendos tenían dos cosas en común 1. shorts y 2. botines. Pensé: Qué tema tan fantástico para compartir con mis lectores hoy. Así que aquí lo tienen "Como Vestir Shorts con Botines."

WHAT COLORS GO WELL WITH BURGUNDY

I find the question of: What colors go well  with burgundy? To be a bit complex to answer. There's the obvious answer: with neutral colors (black, gray, white, ivory and navy blue). But then there's also the "think outside the box" kind of answer. I did a little research of my own and found the following answers:

1.  Red and violet are good colors to match with burgundy since they fall next to each other on the color wheel. 

2. You can also match tints (colors mixed with white) of red and violet as well as hues (colors mixed with black) of blue with burgundy.

3. Burgundy matches well with hunter green. Both are darker shades of red and green.

However I find this not to be the last answer. This season more daring proposals have been offered by designers, mixing burgundy with bright color like orange and electric blue. With this in mind I ventured myself into color mixing and came up with a couple of proposals. When I create outfits sometimes I like to push the limits. This outfits are only for people who are not afraid and who are willing to try new things.

Personalmente encuentro la pregunta de: Qué colores combinan bien con vino tinto? Un poco difícil de responder. Siempre está la respuesta obvia: con otros neutrales (negro, gris, blanco, crema y azul marino). Pero luego también tenemos la respuesta tipo "piensa fuera del cuadrado". Hice una pequeña investigación y encontré las siguientes respuestas:

1. Los rojos y los violetas son colores que combinan muy bien con vino tinto porque se encuentran uno a la par del otro dentro del círculo cromático.

2. También puedes combinar tintes (colores mezclados con blanco) rojos y violetas al igual que tonos (colores mezclados con negro) de azul con vino tinto. 

3. El vino tinto combina muy bien con un verde oscuro que también haya sido mezclado con negro. 

Sin embargo pienso que esta no es la última palabra. Esta temporada los diseñadores nos ofrecieron propuestas más atrevidas, mezclando el vino tinto con colores brillantes como el anaranjado o incluso un azul eléctrico. Con esto en mente me aventuré a mezclar colores y desarrollé las siguientes dos propuestas. Cuando creo atuendos muchas veces me gusta empujar los límites. Estos atuendos son solo para personas que no tienen miedo y que están dispuestas a probar cosas nuevas. 

Azul eléctrico.

TIP DE ESTILO: Para un look divertido reemplaza los usuales

tacones negros por una opción más colorida en el mismo estilo de zapato. 

Anaranjado.

TIP DE ESTILO: Para darle un poco de interés visual a tu atuendo,

elige un bolso estructurado femenino en algún color complementario.

HOW TO WEAR BURGUNDY

Burgundy is one of this seasons hottest colors. It's dramatic and rich and very often associated with the autumn-winter season. When we think of the color burgundy we often visualize it paired up with black, gray and other neutrals. However, the good news is you can also mix it up with other bold colors like orange, purple, turquoise, and even electric blue. The key to wearing it successfully is to keep an open mind (don't be afraid to try new things) and always look for a tone that most flatters your skin color. 

Today I came up with three different ways to wear burgundy mixed up with other neutrals. Next time I'll show you a more colorful way to wear it. If you still feel a bit insecure wearing this color, you can always start by adding burgundy accessories to your outfits.

El vino tinto es uno de los colores más populares de la temporada. Es rico y dramático y frecuentemente asociado con la época de otoño e invierno. Cuando pensamos en el color vino tinto, la mayoría de las veces lo visualizamos  combinado con negro y otros neutrales. Sin embargo, la buena noticia es que también puedes combinarlo con anaranjado, violeta, turquesa e incluso azul eléctrico. La clave para vestir este color de manera exitosa es mantener una mente abierta (no tengas miedo de probar cosas nuevas) y siempre buscar una tonalidad que mejor favorezca tu color de piel.  

He aquí tres maneras como puedes vestir vino tinto combinado con otros neutrales. La próxima vez les mostraré cómo vestirlo de manera más colorida. Si aún así sientes temor de usar este color, siempre puedes empezar probando con accesorios vino tinto. 

Combina unos jeans color vino tinto con un suéter de cachemira gris.

TIP DE ESTILO: Para darle un look más sexy

y siempre cómodo a tu atuendo, elige unos zapatos cerrados

y puntiagudos de medio tacón en vez de las usuales

zapatillas planas

Combina un suéter grueso color vino tinto con unas leggings negras también gruesas.

una chalina estampada de colores.

Viste un blazer vino tinto encima de un atuendo monocromático para un look elegante de noche.
