BOMBORA LOOK OF THE WEEK: ETHNIC CHIC

For a while now ethnic fabrics have been quite the trend, specially the one's from our native Guatemala.  Last year they made their presence strong in accessories, handbags, shoes, bracelets...Although it looks like it don't think this dress was found at one of our picturesque local markets here in Guatemala, it's actually Billabong. Yes! From the land down under. The Australian brand that once upon a time designed attire mostly for surfers now is making beautiful day dresses you can wear over the weekend (or during the week if you're not forced to follow a strict work dress code). It seems they have taken interest in our one of a kind colorful textiles. As Guatemalans this makes us incredibly proud of our roots. I don't think this fabric was made in Guatemala but it sure is inspired by it.

Once again here's our beautiful Ashley modeling for us. Another way to wear this dress if the temperature drops down a couple of degrees is to put on a pair of tight and boots or booties and voilá! Or if you're not the high heels during the day kind of girl like me you can wear it with flat sandals. There's always a solution for everyone.

Desde hace un tiempo que los textiles étnicos han son tremenda tendencia, especialmente los de nuestra nativa Guatemala. El año pasado tuvieron una presencia muy fuerte en accesorios, bolsos, zapatos, brazaletes... Aunque lo parece no se crean que este vestido fue encontrado en uno de nuestros pintorescos mercados locales aquí en Guatemala, de hecho es Billabong. Si! De la tierra más abajo. La marca Australiana que alguna vez diseñaba más que nada para surfistas ahora esta fabricando lindos vestidos de día que puedes vestir durante el fin de semana (o durante la semana si no te ves forzada a seguir un estricto código de vestimenta de trabajo). Parece ser que han tomado gran interés en nuestros textiles coloridos y únicos. Como guatemaltecos esto nos hace sentir increíblemente orgullosos de nuestras raíces. No creo que esta tela haya sido hecha en Guatemala pero sin duda alguna está inspirada en ella. 

Una vez más nuestra bella Ashley modelando para nosotros. Otra forma de usar este vestido si la temperatura baja un par de grados es con tights y botas o botines y voilá! O si tu no eres el estilo de chica que usa tacones durante el día como yo puedes usarlo con sandalias bajas. Siempre hay una solución para todas.

On Friday temperature dropped down a little bit, which is why I decided to wear my maxi dress with tights underneath and biker boots. I didn't feel like accessorizing on Friday but this dress would look pretty amazing with big earrings (keep them proportional to your size).

Good morning everyone! What better way to start the day than with a Bombora Boutique look of the week post. Our first Bombora look of the week post was a bit more aggressive and with a hint of rock n'roll for the fearless woman. Today is all about those hopeless romantic girls. Yes! We have something for everyone. How beautiful is this baby doll kind of dress? In the summer you can wear it with sandals to go the beach, and when the temperature drops down a few degrees you can still wear it by putting on a pair of thick black tights, booties, and if its too cold you can cover yourself with a big chunky grandpa cardigan. Can you visualize it? I didn't want to go crazy with accessories so I chose a vintage necklace to go with the bohemian romantic mood. I know you girls love it! Muy buenos días a todos! Que mejor manera de iniciar el día que con un post del look de la semana de Bombora Boutiuqe. Nuestro primer post del look de la semana de Bombora Boutique fue un poco más agresivo y con un toque de rock n' roll para la mujer valiente. El post de hoy es para aquellas mujeres románticas incurables. Si! Tenemos algo para todas. Acaso no es lindo este vestido estilo baby doll? En el verano pueden usarlo con unas sandalias para ir a la playa y cuando baja un poco la temperatura aún puedes usarlo con unas tights negras gruesas, botines, y si se pone muy frío puedes cubrirte con un suéter de lana grueso y largo estilo cardigan. Pueden visualizarlo? No quise enloquecer con los accesorios por lo que elegí un collar vintage que fuera con el sentimiento bohemio romántico del look. Sé que a ustedes chicas les encanta! OUTFIT OF THE DAY: BOMBORA KNITTED CARDIGAN AND PRINTED DRESS

Thank you Bombora Boutique for my outfit of the day! Today is a little bit cold and windy in Guatemala which is why I decided to wear my dress with tights and boots. This is a very clever and stylish way to transform a summer outfit when the temperature drops down a bit. It's also a fun, always cute way to wear colored tights without looking like a circus clown. 

Gracias a Bombora Boutique por mi atuendo del día! Hoy amaneció un poco frío y con viento aquí en Guatemala por lo cual decidí usar mi vestido con tights y botas. Esta es una manera muy ingeniosa y estilosa de transformar un atiendo de verano cuando la temperatura cae un poco. También es una forma divertida y siempre linda de usar tights de colores sin parecer payaso de circo.

BOMBORA LOOK OF THE WEEK: ROMANTIC ROCK

Ladies, I'm pleased to announce that as of today every Wednesday I will bring you a new look courtesy of Bombora Boutique. Bombora is a new boutique in Guatemala that just recently opened it's doors to the public in the month of December. My birthday and Christmas gifts from my mother where from Bombora, a beautiful white maxi dress that I wore for New Years and a lovely knitted sweater that I also wore during my New Years vacation at the beach. Bombora has options for strong, modern, free spirited women who are not afraid to be different.  

For today's Bombora look of the week I decided to mix two very different styles that put together they make one hell of sexy mix. Ashley looks like she's ready for a fun night out (Or Coachella but it's a little bit too early for that lol!). 

Chicas, tengo el gusto de anunciarles que a partir de hoy todos los miércoles les traeré un nuevo look cortesía de Bombora Boutique. Bombora es una nueva boutique en Guatemala que recientemente acaba de abrir sus puertas al público en el mes de diciembre. Los regalos de cumpleaños y navidad que me obsequió mi mamá fueron de Bombora, un hermoso vestido largo blanco el cual usé la noche de Año nuevo y un lindo suéter tejido que también usé durante mis vacaciones de año nuevo en la playa. Bombora tiene opciones para mujeres fuertes, modernas y con espíritu libre que no tienen miedo de ser diferentes.

Hoy para nuestro look de Bombora de la semana decidí mezclar dos muy diferentes estilos que juntos hacen una combinación increíblemente sexy. Ashley parece que está lista para una noche muy divertida (O Coachella pero quizás sea un poco temprano para eso jaja!).
