MADEMOISELLE RED GOES TO FILM SCHOOL

No, not really, I wish. I also wish I could go to photography school, graphic design school, web programming school, and language school (French, Portuguese, Hebrew, Swedish...) lol! What can I say, I'm the kind of person who likes to learn things. Unfortunately I don't think I have the time or money to learn everything, one's got to work right? Anyways... I'd be pretty cool to be a film maker.

LITTLE MISS RED AND THE LEMON TREE

This Past Friday Shanila and I went to our friend Fernanda Gomar's house to have our Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures monthly photo shoot session. Due to our busy schedules we always try to take advantage of the whole afternoon to shoot enough material for an entire month, that is if the weather allows us. This past couple of months have been quite challenging because of the weather in Guatemala. Most of the time it rains and so we find ourselves forced to either cancel the shoot earlier than planned or change locations. No matter what we always try to be as creative as we can possibly be considering the circumstances. However I don't know why every time we go to Fernanda's house we always get the best weather. The first time shooting there we came up with Little Miss Vintage Traveler, Little Miss Red Pitaya and Little Mis red Tropicalisima, until now those have been my 3 favorite posts since we started, except for the very first one Mademoiselle Red which is my all time favorite one.  This time I think we came up with some pretty cool material as well. Today I give you LITTLE MISS RED AND THE LEMON TREE. How gorgeous are those lemons in the pictures!!! And how gorgeous is my fro too of course lol!!! Expect more 80's inspired frizzy hair in future LMR posts.

LITTLE MISS RED TROPICALISIMA

I have to admit that most of the time I wish I could go out wearing less clothes than I regularly do but living in Guatemala doesn't really allow me to be as free as I would want to be lol! Don't get me wrong I have no intention of becoming a porn star anytime soon but a little bit more flesh wouldn't kill anyone (of course it wouldn't). So for this week's Little Miss Red Fashion Adventures session I decided to man up and bare some skin. I love tropical places and everything they embody, except for really bad hair days when it gets too humid. This type of outfits are my favorite they're sexy and feminine and still classy. Now you know what to do with your favorite sheer maxi skirt the next time you go to a tropical place. Remember that if you feel confident and sexy everyone else will think the same, it's contagious.

MADEMOISELLE RED

For our first session together Shanila and I decided we could have our photo shoot at her place, I'd never been to Shanila's house but I'd heard really good things about it, and plus I know she's a professional so I of course said yes, I always trust the people I work with, there's a reason I decided to work with them on the first place.

When I finally got there I see this beautiful white mediterranean inspired house with blue doors, I instantly fell in love with it.  Because of the whole style and idea of my outfit we decided to go upstairs and have our session on the terrace where there was a lot of light and texture on the walls and floor.

I wanted to portray a modern day mademoiselle who finds inspiration in moments of solitude and who at times needs to set herself apart from the world to find comfort and inner peace in the arms of tranquility.

NEW PROJECT ON STYLE BY RED!!!

Ladies and gentleman I'm so happy to announce that today I start a new project on Style by Red with my friend and photographer Shanila Menendez. I'm so excited that I'm finally having a professional photographer as good as Shanila take my picture in a different scenery other than my room. The idea of this project is to show you some of my favorite outfits in some of my favorite hidden places in Guatemala. Shanila is such a talented photographer that this project is bound to be good so you have to stay tuned for what's coming up on Style by Red because this is only the beginning.

Here's a sneak peek at what I'll be wearing for today's photo shoot.

TODAY'S OUTFIT: MAXI SKIRT AND COWBOY BOOTS

By now you've already noticed how much I love my black sheer maxi skirt by Romeo & Juliet Couture. What's not to love about it? It's beautiful and it's perhaps one of the most versatile pieces I own. One of this days I'm gonna create a post about my maxi skirt's many looks, I'm sure a lot of you own that one maxi skirt that you can mix and match with almost everything in your closet. This time I decided to pair mine with Steve Madden cowboy boots, Kenzo braided leather belt, Massimo Dutti sleeveless basic top, Mayarí Rojas necklace, and a vintage handbag, oh and before I forget, my timeless C'Santos statement ring.

More often than not I hear women say how bad they look with olive green or military green however I do find it very flattering on me, perhaps its because my skin is warm and so is my hair.

I hope you like it and good luck mixing an matching your own fabulous maxi skirt!
